I guess back in the day teenage years must have been great but not now with the pressure of society. Schools curriculums are becoming harder and harder and making the students feel more worthless as the years tick by. The media has started to convey size 10 as "plus size" making girls feel like they are never good enough and always in competition with others.
I've been very guilty of this myself. Comparison. It's hard to see a beautiful girl walk down the street and not compare yourself to her, instantly dropping your self esteem levels to zero. Although I still do this as it's difficult not to, there's a piece of advice I always keep in mind. "You're comparing your behind the scenes to her highlight roll"
I guess at the end of the day, everyone is going to have things they want to change about themselves. For example, I have wanted a nose job for like ever. However, I know for a fact that if I ever get that nose job, I will then just find something else to hate and want to change.
I think we should all (girls and boys) just start living and stop caring so much about what everyone else thinks. I know people say this all the time but in all seriousness, in 5 years time are we going to care that somebody laughed at the shoes you wore today? No. In 5 years time are we going to care about that boy who didn't text you back? No. I think as a generation we need to stop caring so damn much about everybody else and start focussing on what makes ourselves happy! Who's with me? :)
